Any body know where I can find a block heater for my 2000TDI?
thanks
www.worldimpex.com had OEM ones a while back... or was that the one that sits on the bottom of the oil pan and keeps the oil warm....can't remember, but if I find the p/n in etka again I could post it up...

As I'm sure you're aware, the frost plug style AHU/1Z & older VW's use won't work in the ALH engine.
http://www.frostheater.com/Significantly more effective than the oilpan heater. Of course, it should be as it draws way more power...
Or depending where you are, put the parts together from CTC or your local auto parts store. The hose #'s that work were posted on TDI Club somewhere if you feel like the work of putting it all together yourself.
Is it any cheaper doing it yourself? Im sure I can make one if I can find the directions
At TDI Club, search 'zero start coolant circ. heater' in the 'General Maintenance - A4 TDIs (VE and PD)' section.
The thread is a good start.
According to that & other threads I've read on it, seems like it's definitely cheaper to DIY in Canada, mebbe not so much in the US.
'Snowman' had a great set of directions online but the link doesn't appear to work any longer
I know there's more info including the hose numbers to buy, but I can't currently find them...
