HOW TO: Remove and install rotor assembly safely?
« on: September 14, 2006, 10:39:40 am »
So, today I realized that the o-ring sealing the rotor assembly to the IP body is leaking like a siv. Its very clear that its coming from there.

Now, I consulted Bently, and the book says specificly not to remove it, and thats IT.

Id like to replace that o-ring and be on my merry way, but am finding that removing that has certain complications, but no idea why.

Ive see some pics of the pump dissasembled, and have some idea what lies beneath.

Can anyone istruct me on how to remove and replace the rotor?

I need to drive this car!!!

Thanks!

It worked!

I did use a peice of a bolt as an extension to hold spring tension on the inside assembly while taking the rotor off. It seemed like it was coming a long ways off the IP, so I played it safe and kept it cranked in.

Thanks for the help!
