We had our end of the season at the local drag strip yesterday, and as such it was free runs. So I couldn't pass that up and made a couple of pass's.
Track info:
-2400' ASL
-Air Temp 30C / 86F
-Humidty 42%
Car info:
2910lbs race weight, same as street weight not prepped at all (3/4 tank fuel, full interior, with stereo ect...)
1.6TD ~ 40K on rebulit motor
Stock DP, 2.25" exhaust toilet bowl back
Stock IP (no turns on the fuel screw, no gov mod)
Custom Cut fuel pin (looks like Hillfolker's)
Unpluged wastegate (max psi I saw in the run ~ 25psi, thats all the fuel I had)
First run, clutch started sliping in second and never totally recovered, also completely asleep at the lights (my excuse I was trying to build boost at the line, and looked at my boost gauge and missed the first light).
-rec .935
-I1 2.685
-I2 7.757
-I3 12.294
-I4 16.259
-E.T. 19.578
-MPH 67.995
Next run clutch slipped so bad, I wasn't sure I would be able to drive home, I could rev it like it was in neutral or half engaged. Thankfully after some cool down time it came back close to how it was.
So with the clutch slipping those numbers still calculate out to like ~80whp or like a 12hp gain over stock with just a fuel pin! Cost of mods involved $0, total time like 15min with: opening the top, bench grinder, puting it back together, and cutting the wastegate line and pluging the other end.
