i did all the adjustments recommended... except the boost pin thing. why? because i don't have one. i have a 1.9 TD. 1st gear lots of smoke, after that... nothing. i loose power after 3,800 RPM. i think i don't have enough fuel, i can hear the turbo. i don't know how else to increase fuel at high RPM.
my question here is... who sells the aneroid pin
thanks...

you can make your own,or i thought one was avalable from germany or somethin
i saw also that bully dog makes one too,but i think its a bigger pin,so it wont work, ive got a spare 4b pump, and its' pin doesnt fit my vw pump
im thinkin someone on here makes one
i made mine from a spare one,i can set it on max fuel,or turn it around for max economy
max power setting
max wuss setting
i carry a little tool pack in my car and can turn up my pump in minutes with it
actually i ride around with it turned up most of the time

Nice ....... i actually seen your setup awhile back. I have search the site for the pins. i know lots of people have it, but they never mentioned where to get one. i also know that some people buy the whole pump and swap parts... i checked on ebay and there are lots of different veriation of the same pump, so i was not sure which one. i have never seen the inside of the pump and don't know enough about the pump to make the pin. i am searching for parts now... if i can't find one...then i will consider making one. The funny thing is... junkyard has a lot of VW, but never seen a diesel there.
thanks again for the help... anything is apreciated

1.9's have boost pins unless urs is an ecodiesel, it's just that there pins suck, if i had a 1.9 and ic ouldn't find a 1.6 pin i would just do what blake did to his 1.6 pin...

my friend picked up an aftermarket HP boost pin in germany for me. It has a narrow and steep profile. I put it in a M-tdi and it made a big difference over the old fiat td pin which BTW is steeper than a vw. Best $75 spent...power wise.

when you take into account how much work it is to make a pin properly...$75 is a good deal. My turbo spools up much faster now..makes 23psi very quickly.

i "borrowed" the profile of a "bully dog" pin at work, others may not be as lucky as me
besides when i wanna "turn it down",i just rotate it to a stock spot
i usually leave the plastic washer off of the pin,and i have my starwheel fully bottomed, its probably about 2 turns to do that

I tried to do the pin rotation thing but it looks like the profile is the same all around the pin, am I supposed to cut my own profile on the pin?

can anyone give me the measurement for the pin's profile? when it starts to when it ends... can't be cutting profile if i don't know where to cut.
also... for the 1.9 td what will keep the pin from turning back. the 1.6L have a nut and screw to hold the pin in place, 1.9L don't
i don't know if the dealer will sell the top part of the 1.6L pump??
thanks for the help guys

lookat your orig pin,you will see a little scratch on its length where it was normally riding, thats its travel area, and you get more travel if you remove the plastic washer
maybe this helps??
