Hey guys...
I've recently come into a steal of a deal for a g60 valvecover and I was wondering just what all involved in putting it on my 1.6TD
would this be correct?
Valvecover, Co-responding gasket and studs
would that be correct?
Would I need to remove the upper timing belt cover and backing plate?
another thing I've been wondering is running a good oil catch can...
I've translated and took a look at this page.

That must be the Japanese equivalent of Red Bull.
Anyways, yes it will fit though you will probably have to remove the guards. You won't NEED the G60 gasket and studs but the rubber gasket is nice. I use onr of the European MK3 aluminum valve covers on my engine with an ABA gasket and unshouldered studs. It doesn't leak and looks much better...though the lack of guards may be disappointing for some.

I've already got the gasket (it came with it) but I might as well get the studs I guess...
Does anyone know how to take off the upper timing belt guard and rear backing plate? would it be attached behind the Injection pump's drive gear?
Update:
Okay, so took my valvecover and I sandblasted it... nearly ready for polishing.. but I have a few questions.
1. Has anyone done any polishing on aluminum? What is the process? progressivley finer sandpaper?
2. Aside from taking off the upper timing belt cover backing plate (does anyone know where all the fasteners are to remove it?) what am I to do with the sight tube that crosses over the timing belt?
