Mmmm, nice. I'm presently looking for a new leather wheel to transplant mine over to. the wheel itself is a bit ratty.

fitted it on an leather looking mk2 gti stearing wheel. much better than stock mk1 stearing wheel

also mk2 GTD dash (europe)

(yawwwwn) there`s still a few of them aound here(Winnipeg) in the backwater that I live in so I doubt that they`re anywhere near as rare as is being made out here. On that subject, I gladly trade the one I have in my Jetta and the spare that I have for a the far rarer 'GTd' insert that I saw while in Portugal and Spain: any takers?

So would I: it never occured to me at the time(Barcelona Olympics) that it was anything particularly special. It`s a little more irritating now as I have my injection molded plastic set-up running and if I had a pic of the GTd insert, I could probably run off a few dozen of them if I had a good visual to make the mold from :( . As it is,I still might take a wack at the td insert spoken of above as I can use my spare for an original: might sell a few to the folks here if they turn out,... :wink:

Hi,

Just been reading your post on the Turbo Diesel steering wheel..... very nice.... wouldnt mind one myself...... the GTD badges you are after, i have a front grille mounted on on my GTD and a "rare" turbo diesel badge on the back.
