Well I took the beast out for a test run, and after a few hard runs, I slow down for a stop sign and the the battery light comes on. So I press the gas pedal and no Vroom. So now I crank the motor and it doesn't fire under the first second of cranking. So I pull off, rip the hood open and check my timming belt..... IT was perfectly fine, next the accessory belts also perfect. Then I run back in crank the car.... cough cough sputter cough, black cloud of death. I run back over to the motor which sounds exctly like it did when I had started off for the night.
I look at my fuel lines and see major air bubbles running into my pump, so I'm like alright why the major change, then I remember the line that was wearing away on the intake fuel line..... Why didn't I cahnge that sooner.
So it's filter time and I'm not sure I'm about to use the filter from my 88 hat has been sitting for a while.
I'm also thinking about running ATF from the filter into the pump to lubricate and clean that wickedc pump up. I have read that it is fine to runn it in pumps, and for cleaning motors but I'll stop at putting into the pump.
