86 Jetta 1.6 leaking from cold start shaft
« on: December 17, 2025, 10:36:17 am »
I figure I may as well do both seals. Pretty sure I may as well remove the pump. I can't seem to find the seal for the cold start shaft though. Anyone got a lead for me?

I can't even remember what that one looks like.  It may have come in a total rebuild kit.  If you are only replacing that one I would pull it out and go shopping at an auto parts or hardware store to see if they could match it inside and outside diameter as well as thickness of the ring.

It's part of the DGK-126 seal set.
It's one of the 2 smallest ones.
Same seal for the accelerator shaft.

Your local bosch service center can get you just that seal.

That's what he needs to know.  I am fuzzy brained about the seals as it has been a while since I did a reseal.  I have extras in a plastic container on my workbench.  Maybe I have that seal there.

I could look if you want me too.  I will be painting inside of a new house this weekend so getting to it might take till Sunday.
