Is this the punishment for not lapping injectors?

Have heard that dual stage injectors are difficult to setup properly.  Did your fiend set the break pressures to be even in all cylinders using a pop tester?

If the new injectors have a different breaking pressure they can spray either later or earlier.
Changing the timing.

Right, if you don't lap them you could end up with fuel running down the outside of the injectors.
That's why you lap them.

The answer is NO to all. Don't even know if he has the pop test jig. I will endeavor to redo the job right, and report back. Thanks for the advice.

Most bosch service centers have the ability to test 2-stage injectors.
 They just don't have access to the shims to adjust them.
