85 jetta non ac alt to ac alternator wiring

(1/2) > >>

93Ford:
So the origanal alt had a 3 prong connection(2 red and 1 white) and a black spade connector. Now im going to an ac style alternator and the conections are different it has a b+ and d+ and w. What i need to know is where do i hook up the origanal connections. I was going to post some pictures but cant figure out how.

fatmobile:
The black spade is probably w and shouldn't need the end changed.

B+ goes to battery so it gets a big lug.

I think the blue wire (probably not white) needs a small lug. D+

93Ford:
on this alternator there is only 1 lug. https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/c/ultima/alternators---starters/alternator/f7cab2ae3cc0/ultima-90-amp-alternator-remanufactured/oat0/r111458b/v/a/7277/automotive-car-1985-volkswagen-jetta?pos=0       This is the alt i have if you look at the second picture thats the lug and connections I have.

93Ford:
I figured the b+ was the battery but what of the original wires goes to that lug. Is it the 2 red wires on the 3 wire plug

fatmobile:
Right, 2 red wires are battery.
Looks like they use a blade instead of the small lug for the blue D+ wire.
 Black is probably W.
