The old from about 7 years ago. Was worse by the time I started working on it.

ORCoaster:
what is the secret to the fix?   Fiberglass resin? Truck bed liner?

scrounger:
Yes I copied what I saw others do on youtube

I did use ultralight bondo type filler. after widening the cracks Then used 80 grit. and hand sanded it. A can of duplicolor truck bed aerosol in black for 8 dollars a can. Had to use a second can to finish the glovebox cover.

The thing was way more warped than in the picture. I used epoxy flox and bonded in a 32" 1/4" steel rod about an inch behind the front edge underneath. Once clamped and cured it really stiffened up the particle type material that the dash structure is made of.

I drove the car a couple of times without the dash and liked the open space but seemed simpler just to put it back in.

ORCoaster:
You have to be kidding me, I pulled those items out of thin air.  I had no idea that they would do the job.  Nice to know if I ever have to "restore" a dash.
