Oil Pan Bolt Under Tranny

1.9 1Y
5-speed
One of the two oil pan bolt holes located under the tranny is cross-threaded. Do I need to unbolt and move tranny to retap hole or can I notch the tranny to get a straight tap? Or is there another, easier way?
thanks.

What do you think about using the next size of the bolt but make it a self-tapping one? Be easier than cutting a clearance hole I would expect. The oil pan bolts are 6 mm I think, You could upsize to 7 mm.
Just thoughts.

Thanks. That sounds doable. Only the first two threads or so are crossed. The idea of botching this is not appealing.
