Parting out 1990 Golf 1Y - Ontario Canada
« on: April 05, 2021, 10:41:31 am »
430xxxkm Hasn't run in about 5 years, not going to try because I don't trust the timing belt. This was my car, then I gave it to my brother. He parked it when he got his MK3. Interior was originally blue but it was mostly swapped out for a black GTI interior. It's pretty rough.

Willing to ship pretty much anything, just ask. If you want better pictures, just ask.

Prices are USD

Giles pump - likely needs resealed. Built as a 1Y super pump. Will work on a 1.6 but will need the fuel screw adjusted a bit and the delivery valves swapped over - $350

Ported AAZ head. Drilled for G60 or normal 8v valve cover. Unfortunately not all studs were drilled straight so it's a bit of a pain to re/re the valve cover. I think the cam followers allow for the normal AAZ valve cover, they would just need the studs and other hardware reinstalled. I do not have this hardware. Will confirm once valve cover is removed- $300

1Y Intake Manifold - $150

4:2:1 Exhaust manifold, downpipe with spacer for taller block (removable) - $150

Non AC, non PS pulley setup with bracket and alternator (should be rebuilt)- $75

Manual steering rack (no boot for input shaft) - $150

AAZ short block with rotating assembly (turbo return port ground off) - $150

AAZ injectors - these were rebuilt by Giles but that's quite a while ago now - $150

AAZ injection lines - $100

G60 valve cover - $150

Interior pieces - $5-$50?

Mk2 hatch $150

ACH? transmission - $150

CE2 cluster with tach - $150

4 button GTI steering wheel - $100

Dang, I was hoping for a shifter boot that normally is on the console.  It is the offset one that is down to the lower left.  Also thought I could finally get the big nut that goes on the washer fluid container but you have the "other one"  on there.

Oh well, not that important really.  Keeps me looking.

Isn't the big nut style washer jug MK1?

I don't know why the shifter boot isn't in the car anymore. I had an accordion style one.

That big nut is on the MK1 and I have two of them.  I put an MK2 style in but I really want it to be more original.  I think the MK1 version is more robust behind the battery.

I may have to break down and buy a new boot for bongo bucks.  Probably the better spend of dollars anyway.
