Where to buy parts for 020 rebuild
« on: January 01, 2021, 09:01:57 am »
I have a 1982 020 FN that I recently swapped into my '84 Rabbit and the 3rd gear synchro is not behaving.  So... I am looking for advice in a good place to by seals, gaskets, bearings, synchros for a rebuild.  Thanks in advance.

'84 Rabbit 1.6, KB turbo pistons, VNT15 (GFB controlled), TT downpipe, TT exhaust, Giles pump, Turbo head, gasket matched, FMIC, Mishimoto thermo - Mocal oil cooler.

Used to be a good source of parts, but now seems to be closed.  Maybe send a message to them?

I did send a message a week or so ago but as you saw, he is closed at this point.  Also, the vortex won't let me message him either.  Therefore, I'm looking for another source for parts.

This is off the site below and they didn't list a diesel engine but it may work.  Maybe poke around at years from 82 to 84 for various vehicles and see if they list a diesel option.  This one may be a bit weak for the torque of the engine.

Or get a whole kit from these folks:
