SOLD VW IDI Engines and parts SOLD
« on: October 10, 2020, 06:31:31 pm »
I have a South African 1.9 turbo engine (AAZ???). It has 38K miles on it. I had a valve issue and pulled the head to fix it. It has a completely rebuilt head but sits disassembled. $450 USD. I will pack and ship for additional cost.

I have a 1.6NA from a 79 Dasher. 103K miles. The wife overheated it and the rings lost their temper.  A re-ring might fix it.  $150

An abundance of 1.6D parts and some other Rabbit parts.  If you come in person you'll get them all for $100, located in NW WY.

I have been out of VW diesels since the '90's so I am part ignorant.  If you tell me where to look for ID numbers I can look there - treat me like a 5 year old, because that is the extent of my VW knowledge.    I don't want to part out engines for turbo and fuel pumps unless you pay the full amount and I only ship the stuff you want.

I will trade for things that go bang, a post hole auger for a Bobcat, toward a dozer with a 6 way blade,  anything else that takes up less space in my garage and I can use.

I live in Clark, WY but it isn't on most maps since they took our Post Office away in '77. Mailing address is now Powell, WY
I am 40 miles north of Cody and 80 miles south of Billings, MT.

40 miles to Powell, 40 miles to Cody, 40 miles to Bridger and 40 miles to Red Lodge!!   Exactly in the middle of BFE!

And since it is WY you are actually only 20 mins from any of those points.

If you aren't driving 90 MPH in WY then be kind enough to move over as everyone comes around you.

After 2 million + miles in a big rig - I drive for fuel economy, no matter what I'm in. Very rare that I go over 65. And yes, you are free to go around me.
Just dim your HIGH BEAMS before you come up on me. I have been known to turn my high beams on and run 85 mph chasing the MFer that didn't dim their brights, once they are around me!!

Don't let them leaving the lights on for you flip your switch.

That rig can go that fast but you know full well what that costs in the way of a ticket if Smokey happens to be watching that car as well.

I run in Free America where big trucks can go 75 or 80 legally.  Unless they are on a call the cops go to bed at 2330 in most places I run.  Deputy's might still be out but the State Patrol usually isn't.

I forget that those wide-open spaces also have WOT limits.  Could use some of those on the eastside of OR but they keep it tight to generate revenue.  If you know what I mean.

Do you have a crank and rods for a 1.6l NA diesel?

Not surplus.
At $150 you could buy the whole engine and sell off the head, pump... and not get hurt. Might even get your stuff for free.

Do you still have these parts? I live in South Dakota and might consider taking them all off your hands, especially if we can meet in the middle somehow. How far are you from Rapid city?

400 miles if you go thru Billings (winter) or over the mountains (summer)

My brother is going that way in June. I don't now how tight on time he will be. Are you wanting the whole lot?

I'm going to say these are SOLD.  I have a deposit with what I believe is a good promise to return.
