Interior Square Footage?
« on: June 14, 2020, 07:29:44 pm »
Well, I finally got The Rat in the garage to get a bunch of small maintenance items done that have been accumulating. I also know I have minor rust in floor board just in fromt of both seats. Looking at appropriate repair for that as well.

Since my bunny is known as The Rat, it's only fitting it gets some Rat love. Wanting to cover interior with red RustBullet. As it is sold by can size and square footage, any ideas how many sqft the interior of a 4-door Mk1 may have? I know the formula,  but thats for flat, not all the crooks and crannys of a Rabbits floor, doors, C-pillars, etc. Or if you've done something similar, how many pints or qts did it take?

Red interior will go nicely with the flat black exterior. Thank you in advance.

I wouldn't get hung up trying to figure it so exactly.  Just look at the panel and estimate width and length and multiply it out.  Add up all the figures, round to nearest sq. foot and add 10 %.  The number of sq. feet in a quart of paint is generally 75.  In a gallon, it is anywhere from 350 to 400 but since they are no longer filling them all up to 128 oz anymore you are more likely to get between 275 and 350 sq feet from what looks to be a gallon size can.   :o
