Coolant Hoses and Timing Belt 85 Jetta Diesel
« on: February 08, 2020, 05:23:26 pm »
Believe it or not I still have original coolant hoses, and timing belt is about 20 years old. I'm wondering if I can still  get good German hoses and timing belts that might last 20 or 35 years? I used to go for Continental, but for all I know they're made in China now  This next question might be unique to my 85 Jetta. The fuel line from the filter canister to the injection pump consists of a hard plastic hose with rubber hoses at either end where it connects to canister and injection pump. The pump end is a short (3 inch) formed hose making a 90 degree turn to go into the pump. The rubber hoses should be a mm size but it looks like PO used 1/4 inch. How would I find the formed 90 degree hose, and what mm size should I use? I'm guessing the hose size should be slightly larger than 1/4 inch ID, becuase 1/4 is a tight fit that starts cracking after a year or so.
