Golf 2 GTD with AAZ pump and injectors, how to set?
« on: April 14, 2022, 04:18:30 pm »
Hello,

I'm trying to tune my 1.6 TD with stock IC, engine code SB(80HP).

I swapped an AAZ 1.9 TD pump and dual-spring AAZ injectors with my SB nozzles with opening pressure set to 170 bar.

How should I set timing on the pump now?   To stock value for my SB or stock for AAZ, maybe some other?

Actually, all the screws on the pump are not modded. Engine runs of course but not very well now.

I would start with the settings for the AAZ parts and see how well it runs with those.  Timing as an AAZ.

So 0,80mm or lower. I will write when it will be set. Without setting after some reving i see foam in fuel line going out from pump. After idling 30 minutes all fuel lines have only fuel.

Edit:
Reading my previous thread from 2 years ago I set pump on 1.00mm because of higher opening pressure. After some revving there was bubbles/foam in return from pump to fuel filter. I make about half turn of fuel screw and bubbles/foam almost gone. But idle is about 1200rpm now.
