I'm planning to install a Saab 900 Blackstone intercooler in my     1992 Jetta. It's one of a few planned mods, including a Giles pump, upgraded exhaust.  , and taller gearing.  The car has a/c and it works, so I don't want to scrap it, which leaves little room for an intercooler. The GTD/CL setup seems  a logical fit. Iwas thinking of building a box from aluminum and insulating it. Does anyone have an exploded view of the GTD intercooler? In particular, I'm interested in how the air routes out of the air box. Thank you.

would be interesting if you had a hood scoop that would cool the intercooler.  Moving the battery to the back of the car would help too!

In the pic I posted, it looks like air feeds through the grill.  Not sure I want a NACA duct on the hood -- trying to keep it looking stock. Agreed, moving the battery to the trunk would free up a lot of room.  In any case, I want to keep the plumbing runs as short as possible, which the GTD setup seems to do pretty well.

On the GTD, I think all the air comes from the grill beside the single round headlight, which isnt a very big source.  With my aero (north american style) headlights I dont see much space to get air into that area.  same for a GTI quad round grill I picked up.  (unless you want to leave left inner light out!)

I got a GTD cooler and hoses from England, plan to make a box out of cardboard, then 'glass it.  I have a small rad fan off an datsun I wrecked years ago, I plan to put that under the cooler.  I might try it with just that or I might add a scoop at front edge of hood.  Battery and PS resvoir I hope to leave where they are.

Mine is a GTD and it doesn't even have an IC.
