How to mount a 11mm ?
« on: July 12, 2006, 12:57:08 pm »
Hi,

I want to know if that's easy to replace my 11mm pump head by a 11mm on a tdi? I have a AHF 110.
Because nobody want to mount this part on a tdi.

Thanks

You want to put an 11mm pump head onto your 10mm pump? Or you want to replace the entire injection pump with an 11mm unit?

It's alright...my German is much worse than your english  :D

Most people would be scared to disassemble an injection pump. You'll have to find a diesel shop that specializes in rebuilding injection pumps. They should be able to perform the work.

Otherwise, maybe there is a do-it-yourself thread somewhere? I'm not sure if you want to do this yourself. You'd need some specific tools to disassemble the belt system and would be a fine time to replace the timing belt.

There is a DIY link over on Fred's TDI club....relative to the electronic VE pump but its the same basic procedure....
Its def. not too hard.....biggest thing is to be CLEAN about where you are doing the work and mind what you take out because it needs to go back in again :)  Have done several of these (or 9mm to 10mm upgrades for IDI's) and have never had a problem.

Let me know if you want the link on Fred's....its pretty good

At your own risk of course...

i dont know a 11mm plunjer will fit in youre 10mm cam.

i know 8 an 9mm is the same fitting, but a 9 wont fit a 11.

i have rebuild my mechanical pump, from 9 to 11 included a cam.
when putting the new head on it, you have to be very carfully!!! otherwise you can break the plunjer!! i did it with my old one.

EDIT:
its not treu, they will fit ALL
