I hope it's not against the rules to post a class that I charge for rather than just a community gettogether:
*******
www.girlmark.com/tourI"m teaching an intensive class on making your own biodiesel near Boston (Foxboro) on August 19-20.
For more information about the techniques covered, please see the "open-source biodiesel" website at
www.biodieselcommunity.org or the biodiesel discussion forum at
http://biodiesel.infopop.ccThe hands-on class will cover everything you need to know to safely start making, washing, and quality testing your own biodiesel fuel from waste vegetable oil. Safety and quality control will be stressed, although you dont' have to have any prior chemistry or mechanical experience.
The class is fairly fast-paced, and we get into some (but not all) advanced topics (such as acid-base biodiesel or ethanol-based biodiesel)- the main focus of this class is getting students a good understanding of the chemistry, the safety and quality practices, and learning how to avoid the major mistakes.
At the end of the class there'll be a couple of hours in which we can build reactors for some students who pre-buy a kit from the biodiesel hobby supply vendor
www.b100supply.com.
