Idle and WOT switches on IP?
« on: June 25, 2006, 08:09:48 am »
Yes, I did a search first. ;)

On my car, the idle switch is broken. Doesn't seem to affect the idle at all, though.

The WOT switch is not broken. Both my searching and what I've seen show that it kills the upshift light at, um, WOT.

What is the purpose of the idle switch, and are there additional features that the WOT switch controls?

compu_85 theorized that it was something to do with the air conditioner, which while my car has one, I don't use it. I'm suspecting that it kills the upshift light when at no throttle.

Oh, and since fiddling with that stuff, the car smokes MUCH less. However, exhaust work was also done, so I'm going to check for an exhaust leak before saying anything for certain about that.
