Turbo question
« on: June 13, 2006, 02:11:18 am »
Hi all,

have been hunting around here for a while, amazing amount of knowledge!

I have a quick question, I have a T3 (vanagon) with the 1.9 AAZ engine in.  The turbo was finished and have just bought a K14 to replace it with (was a K03).  I'm using the manifold off the 1.6TD (vanagon version) and my problem is that I need to 'spin' the turbo around about 180 degrees so that everything lines up in this new configuraton (engine at 50 degrees, manifold situated so that it misses engine mounting bars.  I have loosened the 4 bolts around the flange (see pic) but I cannot shift the join at all....should this move ok, any tips for rotating this.

I don't want to knock the balance off at all of break the casting!  Would a cold chisel and a good hard crack with the hammer loosen it?  heat?

Any help greatly appreciated!
