I have a 1990 Jetta Diesel N/A
I have diesel slowly leaking around the side of one of my injector nozzles when it is running. I want to try to retorque it first, but is there an O-ring or gasket that could be bad? Anyway, it appears the only way to get it off is to use a deep well socket. What size do I need? I'd like to just go to Sears and get the right one the first time. I've tried searching, but didn't find the answer.
Thanks, I love these VW's with their odd sizes.
If your in Canada, the Canadian Tire 'mastercraft maximum' 1/2 inch drive 6 point 1 1/16" deep impact socket is a great fit for the injectors. its deep enough and has room inside for the fuel return line connections. something like $10
Better than the 27mm deep I bought elsewhere for more money that was not really deep enough. and a lot cheaper than the special injector sockets I found online.
Great tip of the day! Thanks Lee!
