3 vbelt setup - tension locations
« on: December 28, 2018, 06:31:09 pm »
How/Where do I loosen/tighten the big belt that runs from the crank/h2o pump/ac compressor?

Is it the tensioner just below the alternator? Does that work both the alt and ac?

Please say it's easy.

Thanks,
michele

I found all the places after I took off the alternator. And yes, it was easy. I guess I was just flummoxed and needed to be more methodical and patient.

On the ac/alt/tension pulley belt is there some way to "lock" it into position beyond the tensioner bolt facing the front of the car? It seems to be loosening a bit with the vibration of the motor.

Thanks, -m

If it's like a 1.6, the sliding post for the idler has a 17mm nut to tighten to lock position that the tensioner adjusts.
