New guy new IDI

Getting a 90 Jetta on Saturday. Been sitting a while and the guy says it needs a injection pump seal kit. How hard it that to do for a diy guy handy with a wrench

See what info you can google on bosch VE pump. Seal kits are available, but I never have had to use mine yet.
If the leak is from the cast iron square head, that seal can be replaced in situ.

BUT the piston inside MUST be kept pushed down in the bore (via the timing plug hole), as the head is eased up to reveal the "O" ring seal. If you don't, a steel washer often falls unseen into the pump. The pump destroys itself instantly when you start up. Many online guides are written by those who miss this, and are lucky.

 ;Be lucky, or informed. ;)
