GTD Injector O-ring
« on: August 08, 2018, 06:25:33 am »
Hi all,

this might be a bit of a long shot...
My GTD has recently started spraying fuel from cylinder 1 injector, its definitely not coming from the union between the HP Pipe and the injector so my gut feeling is that the O-ring has finally given up the ghost.

Before I go pulling the injector out i thought I'd ask if anyone on here knows of anywhere that still sells/manufactures O-rings for GTD injectors. I've tried various different places including VW themselves (where I was basically laughed at  ??? ).

Thanks in advance, Jess

There are not any o-rings anywhere in the high pressure side of the pump/injectors.  No o-rings in the injectors or between the injectors and the head.  No o-rings between the injectors and the metal lines.  No o-rings between the metal lines and the delivery valves.  No o-rings in the delivery valves or between the delivery valves and the distributor head.

Did it crack or blow the return lines between injectors? I would imagine that would cause your issue.

Snug it down.
Or take the time to loosen the nut and see if the metal pipe is sitting nicely in the injector,.. then tighten it down.
