At minimum you need a way to drive out, drive in, and ream the guide to fit.  For replacing the valve you will need a spring compressor and at minimum to hand lap the valve to the seat.

I know this isn't your issue, but for someone searching in the future, make sure your glowplugs are tight and not leaking.

Make sure to check the valve clearance in the guide. It may have been too tight and got bound up when it got hot causing it to hang open.
