I am driving a 1981 Rabbit Diesel.  It hasn't been modified from stock in any way,,,,yet..  I am only getting from 39 to 43 MPG and it will only run 85 MPH on a down hill stretch.
How much of these modifications that have been mentioned can I get by with doing without losing fuel economy.
By the way, my Rabbit only has 75XXX original miles on it.  My uncle bought it new and isn't mechanically inclined so he hasn't done any modifications.
Thanks
Tim

Thanks, on the pics. TZ750s and diesels, huh? Yeah, I'd say you're impaired!!  :D  I try to catch as many race events as possible. VIR and Barber are within driving range also.  8) Did a track day at BMP last spring. Awesome track. Sears Point was always a track I wanted to ride.  8)
