Upgrade Mk2 210mm clutch in Mk1 Caddy with AAZ?
« on: May 16, 2020, 07:31:26 pm »
I am planing on mating an AAZ motor to a late FN (diesel) - tall 5th gear 020 tranny in a Caddy  - can I put a 210mm clutch therein to help with the extra torque? The tranny should hold up I would think but the spline for FN is 24 and all the 210mm clutches I see out there are 28 splined - is there a clutch disc or set up that would work?

You should be fine running the AAZ's flywheel which is 210mm or 8.25" on your transmission. You can get either clutch for 24 or 28 teeth. If you are running the 24 tooth transmission input shaft, this is the clutch kit with a 24 tooth spline disc: SACHS K7012806

I'm running an AAZ engine in my 1982 pickup using the larger 210mm flywheel from the AAZ and an 020 5 speed with a 24 spline shaft.
