Stand alone glow plug harness
« on: November 15, 2016, 10:28:08 am »
Well not sure if this is considered an upgrade but it is useful to have a standalone glowplug wiring harness when converting any mk1/mk2/mk3 vw. I took a vw fan relay holder, drilled it out and attached the correct terminals and wires. You can find the glow plug wiring schematic online. Here are a few pictures.

I think a simple fuse block from Radio shack is the better option to this problem.  Individually fused lines and a solid mounting method.

For a no-effort version, the '82 Vanagon Diesel standalone glow plug relay holder is still available new from VW.  It even includes the fusible link mount as well.

You would need the 109 Relay and related circuits as well as the Glow-Plug Relay

Forgive my ignorance but what is the 109 relay? For the past 2 glow plug harnesses I have made I only included the MK2 glow plug relay and the appropriate connectors.
