Vacuum Pump R&R
« on: November 13, 2016, 08:00:32 pm »
Just checking to find out if there is any magic about removing and replacing the rotary vacuum pump to replace the o-rings and the "green" shaft seal (#2)???
I assume that the pump just lifts out and drops back in without any special orientation or indexing of the gears.

My vacuum, at idle, is 29 inches and it very slowly bleeds down after the engine is turned off which sounds pretty good to me lacking any numbers on this.
I'm mainly going after the "green" shaft seal to hopefully reduce any leakage there. I see no leakage from o-ring #3.
