I am tempted to buy an 88 Cabriolet that has had a rebuilt AAZ swapped motor 30,000 miles ago - was rebuilt with new oversize pistons and rings as well as with new stock main and rod bearings - I asked him if he had replace the intermediate shaft bearings and he did not remember so I am thinking maybe he didn't  but motor does not burn or use oil - He says oil pressure at idle it shows 1 bar or 14.5 psi and then increases with RPMs.

Is 1 bar at idle low or getting to the point of being a concern?

What pressure is at the acceptable for low end readings at idle?

Is there a way a person can tell if the intermediate shaft bearings are getting close to being overly worn without taking the motor or timing belt apart?

1 bar hot idle is, if anything, high oil pressure.  1 psi hot idle is low oil pressure.  Maybe there is an issue with units?

He said like 1 bar or 14.5psi - so that sounds about right - because when its up and running it should be around 30-40 psi - correct?

air-cooled or diesel

this reading is @idle, hot, @head. your very healthy, 1psi isnt low, about 7psi is getting very low, and can get dangerous, although this reading is reflecting the wellness of lower end, unless you have a serious problem at head.
