PD 150 and 79 Scirocco tach?
« on: April 04, 2016, 10:33:45 pm »
So I am ready to start assembling this new toy.  I have a euro PD 150, a fresh, purpose built 02A trans, mounts, and a fresh 2014 Reflex Silver, 1979 Scirocco.  I have collected most everything but still don't know how I am going to make the original MK1 tach work with the  ECU.  Any suggestions?   Thanks

Pretty sure the ECU will have some sort of digital output by that era, correct me if I'm wrong.

If that's the case and you're otherwise running fine you might do better hooking up something that has nothing to do with the ECU, like a couple of magnets on the crank pulley with a pickup and the gasser tach. Just go old school on the instruments, easier than trying to make them speak modern.
