Switches on IP
« on: December 10, 2015, 12:11:23 pm »
There are two switches on the IP, im assuming a closed throttle and a full throttle switch. What are their functions?

Also, it doesnt seem like my cold start lever actually does anything. Any ideas/tips?

The switches are likely AC cut-out (possible upshift indicator, but that mighta come only in later years).

The cold start lever might indicate a stuck timing piston inside the IP... was this car sitting for an extended period?

I do not believe that the 1.6s ever came with an accelerator position A/C cutout switch.  The switches on the IP are for the shift light.  A/C cutout would have been much more useful.

It does end up sitting for a little while here and there, its not my daily, but i have been driving it more lately. It starts up find in the morning, the coldest morning I drove it to work (around 36 degrees) it started up and idled rough for maybe 2 or 3 seconds and then smoothed out. That was the only time ive had an issue with it at all, which is why I tried pulling the cold start on it to see if it actually did anything and there was no change in idle.
