need a fuel tank and upgrade fuel system, any thoughts?

i have an 80 caddy with an idi swap i picked up about 2 weeks ago. and even though it has a strong engine and trans it needs a lot of work.
After noticing some air in some system and lots of rust and metal in my filter. I inspected my fuel system and found that who ever did the work on this thing had no idea what they are doing. They drilled to holes in the bottom of the tank and JB welded 2 lines into the tank, so now i just pick up all that nasty *** in the bottom of the tank.
2 Questions:
1: where can you pick up a replacement fuel tank, ive looked quite a bit online but cant find anything?
2: im looking to get rid of the steel lines that run down the body of my truck to try and eliminate the amount of rust in my system, and was curious if anyone has experiemented with running a little bit bigger flexible fuel line all the way up to the injection pump and have a couple filters including an fuel seperator filter and a small 3-4 psi lift pump just to keep the fuel flowing??

Rust in disel tank? Only from water in tank, next time use 15-25 ml acetone for tank.
Please use Al or Cu or some 3/8" for fuel line.

I'd drop the tank and take a look inside, maybe get it professionally cleaned.
JB weld fuel outlet? What's wrong with the regular outlet? I'd knock that crap off and put a plug in it, for a drain. The return should be higher in the tank.
You can blow out the fuel lines with compressed air. Clogged lines are usually from rust in the tank, not the lines themselves rusting. But if you really want to put new metal lines in, a lot of places sell it

Rubber lines are not a long term solution (problematic and relatively expensive)

Why can't you plug those up or cap them off and go back to the factory setup with upgrades to the lines?

IDI engine needs fuel to come out of the tank and get to the inlet side of the filter, from there to inlet side of IP. It goes round and round and even spits at the cylinder heads some but finally comes out the OUT bolt and runs back to hide in the fuel tank. You need two lines off the tank to get from filter and OUT bolt.
Not that complicated and some might try it with simple fuel line, but honestly being under the car and seeing how some get pounded on by who knows what I would stick with metal fuel(Steel) line bent to fit to the frame. Once in the engine bay, clear lines to all the rest. Helps for other problems and diagnosis.
How bout that?

I'd just use mk2 diesel fuel lines or mk3 or whatever is easiest to find if you are replacing them anyways. They are a semi rigid plastic and last just about forever.
Caddy tanks are rare, get yours sealed. There are DIY kits available that coat the inside with resin type stuff.
