Oil pump..
« on: July 25, 2015, 01:16:40 pm »
I got the refresh done..fired it up and lost oil pressure. Dissected the oil pump and it is too scored up inside for me to want to use.

Question is do I order one from GAP for an AHU? Because they do NOT list one for a 1.6 diesel let alone a turbo diesel. I tried to use an ABA pump and those do not work with our cars.
At least the one I got didn't. Hope someone can help me out here, I'm pulling hair at this point.

I would suspect autohausaz.com can fix you up.

What is this fascination with German Auto Parts place. Yes, approx. 10 years ago, I used to by parts from them as well. THAT was when their prices were competitive. Now-days, when ever I check their prices on stuff there is a large discrepancy. And, please, save me the "...they sell only German-made parts."

Additionally, they have severely trimmed their Mk. II offerings from what they used to be.

Another alternative might be partsgeek.com. However, their prices are usually a bit higher than Arizona. But, sometimes, I can find items which Arizona fails to conveniently list or not carry.

Ordered one for an AHU/1Z. I just felt better ordering from GAP rather than the parts stores up town and haven't run across much to *** about with them for the things that I've bought recently.

I hate the way they treated me there. I haven't bought from the GAP in years. Autohaus, Mykew, NAPA, heck I would have bet you could have got a better deal on the same pump from advanced, oriellys, or autozone.

Is the pump he ordered even going to work?
I checked the pump part numbers yesterday and they are not the same (according to Arizona).
I compared a 1997 AHU to a 1.6 offering.
Perhaps someone experienced in the two could chime in.

The AHU "should" be the same as the aaz which is the 36mm pump, it will work if so.
