AC Clutch cuts out
« on: June 29, 2015, 08:17:24 am »
Ac works nice and cold but when I accelerate and drop revs at once it cuts out,I confirmed this was an electrical issue when I left the engine running and put the multimeter to the two terminals of the plug of the compressor, when I revved the engine very quickly the voltage would drop to 0v pretty quick but if I do it slowly it wont cut out, its not the trinity switch either as I also tried it with pins jumped on that.
Thing is this is a 1997 golf mk3 GTD with an aaz engine, no climatronic, and has no ECU and no relay, it only has a fan control module so how does it know that the engine is at low revs to cut out the clutch what am I missing?
I really don`t wont it cycle off and on.
Thanks

not exactly on topic;,i have seen a/c's in older cars having wot open setting, shuts off compressor when you floor it, was mainly for safety, dont know but your problem sounds like something like this, could you have a bad reading from a sensor or ecm?or a throttle sensor, maybe you cannt find a direct link to throttle sensor, to electronic to a/c system, ?but you may have one?? my mk3s are ahu engines, so im fully electronic, and it blows, well some,,the ahu is rather sporty

added; do you happen to have an upshift sensor?
