91 Eco diesel Jetta AC question

Hey guys, I am looking at charging my air conditioning system for the summer. I know you charge through the low pressure port. My question is which one is the low pressure port? On top of the radiator or near the firewall/air box area?

Would be the smaller ports of the two and on our cars that still have the 1/4" thread connections. One you want us one closest to the expansion valve.

air-cooled or diesel:
if you have the newer refrigerant, the r134a the low port(s) is obvious, the port(s) should take only 1 size, the low side is also easily found, you cannt tell from the outside the flow of the system, but the bigger pipe is the return to the compressor, this line will or should have your lo-side port, like i said, if system has been upgraded the port should fit 1 size, the low-side,, if its r-12, the old set-up, from factory Becareful, both ports are the same size, look for the return pipe, the bigger one.
