Hello everyone. I am working my way through some upgrades to my diesel van that has a 1.6TD swap. I purchased it last year and she has certainly been a hobby! I am in the process of swapping on a Giles pump. He sent me with the proper arm, however as you see from the pictures I am about an inch too short.
The first picture shows the stock pump, however the former owner "fabed up" a new arm which confuses me because since it is the NA pump shouldn't the accelerator cable reach?
I plan to replace the cable but can't figure out where to find one for an '83. everything on the net say '82 deisel only. 3945mm, 155.31"
Does any one know why the cable does not reach the stock arm?
Does anyone know what length I need. Or what I should do? I feel like maybe it is already a replacement and maybe not the correct cable.
The second pic is with the new pump. It appears as if the cable was an inch longer it would fit both pumps.
Any help would be a amazing. I am trying to learn as much as possible in a short time. The rabbit hole is deep and Its just time to get out and go camping.
Cheers my friends!
PS How do I attach images?
