Rally TDI Mk3
« on: May 14, 2015, 10:37:09 am »
This might not be the first rally TDI, but its mine.

It took me 6 years to build (toss in a divorce, two beautiful daughters,  two moves across country, and a garage no closer than 20 miles from where I lived and you have it)

Its a 95 GTI shell with an AHU swap. Stock turbo (leaky) with pp520's, TT down pipe, 2.25 inch exhaust, air to water intercooler, port and polished head, Nural race pistons, balanced bottom end, eurospec steel flywheel, Spec stage 3 clutch, Kaaz diff, vr axles and suspension with hotbits struts and springs and a host of other little tweaks. Always looking for more/sponsors/help etc to make it more reliable and faster.

I couldn't have done it without my partners in crime, my fiance Kathi, my buddies shop Banchwerks and eEuroparts.  (check eEuroparts page/Youtube for blogs and video of my maiden stage event)

it falls nicely into the G5 Rally America Rules.   Thankfully for the torque it keeps up quite nicely.

Sadly I don't have many pics of the suspension in all its glory!  But come wednesday (garage night this week) I'll snap a few and post em up.

Yes.. though it went 4 cylinder suspension first then back to 5 Lug with some adapters so I could run subie wheels which are much more common in the rally world.  :-D
