Bosch Injection Pump "Cleaning"

Is there any way to clean out the internals of a bosch injection pump? I took out the fuel stop solenoid and I saw some crap in the pump... It looked like pine needles.           Yes the filter is new

Next time you install a new fuel filter, you should fill it with diesel instead of pine needles.

The stop port is pretty small... not likely for large debris to get into the IP or be visible at that port. I'd be interested to see a picture.

The IP can be opened and cleaned, but it's a bit of a fiddly job and easy to screw stuff up.

That's a tdi but the idea is the same for any diesel.
