You might be able to forge a sweet knife out of one of those.
Sure. I just found it funny. I have a couple hundred pounds of items like that that I'll take to recycling. Anyone want to pay me more than scrap value for some junk diesel head castings? Junk pistons? Bent valves? Old head bolts? Old crank sprockets? Etc... I do have a couple bent rods, a melted piston, a broken vanagon trans slider, etc... I'm holding onto, but they have sentimental value.
LOL
Maybe a conversation piece? Or a great gift for your vw diesel obsessed partner??

The machine shop my friend works for only recycles aluminum and yellow metals. He takes home all of the ferrous metals. When he has 3/4 ton or so, he borrows a truck and goes to recycle.
it may seem like a waste of time, but between that and doing work on the side in his garage at home (mostly building mustangs - must annoy an oldsmobile fan) he bought his house on a 15 year mortgage and had it paid off in 8 years.
