Aaz timing belt sliding on pulley

Hey guys, hope maybe some of you experts can help me?
I swapped a aaz into my s1 scirocco and it's running all good but I noticed that the belt has drifted on the pump pulley to one side, see pic

Now the belt started off flush with one side of the pulleys, u can see in this pic how the cam pulley is flush, this is how the pump pulley used to look.


Any thoughts??

I was hoping someone with more knowledge than I would respond - anyway. . .
I believe there is a bit of movement between the IP mount bracket holes and the bolts. If you loosen them a bit and tap with a dead-blow, you should get it to align.
Make sure it's not overtightened!

To get it to track further from the engine, you need to pull the pump, loosen the three allen bolts behind the injection pump and rotate the sprocket side of the bracket UP and the injection lines side DOWN.  Then reinstall pump and check tracking.  It can take a few tries to get it dialed in correctly.

Size of pump has nothing to do with it that I'm aware of.

Typically, these belts are made in molds under very tight restrictions. Having it track differently than the one you took off would have me checking things very carefully. If you've had the pump off or may have smacked it somehow that would explain the issue but it can be remedied by the above adjustment.

The situation/solution is the same, but the number of bolts to loosen and tighten to adjust is different.  Sometimes you can get away with just moving the part of the bracket that is behind the pump.  Sometimes you need to loosen the plate along the end of the block and move that in the opposite direction.

I did have the pump off to change the mount, I will try the alignment, hopefully I don't have to remove the pump again.

Does anyone have any suggestions where to get those caps to put over the 4 fuel outlets on the pump if I do have to remove it?

Are they just "vacuum line caps" you can get at an auto parts store? My local hardware store also had a drawer full of those little plastic caps of various sizes. They were labeled as "bolt covers" or something like that.
