AHU into mk1 wiring questions
« on: July 22, 2014, 04:01:56 pm »
I'll skip right to my main question: has anyone here used the infamous 'piggyback' wiring option of running both fuse blocks?  I know it's been done a million times for aba swaps, and I can't think of any reason it wouldn't work with a tdi, but I haven't seen any examples.  I'm sure they're out there, but a lot of links in tdiclub faq, etc, are dead these days...

No direct experience here, but i don't see why not. As long as you don't have redundant paths for any of the power and both fuse blocks have a good connection.

Yeah, the new box needs its own 12v hot, ground, and the 12v switched power to turn it all on. I am sure it is even simpler than it sounds.

Right, and less guess work and less to remember than adding additional fuse terminals for the new gear.
