Injector pump sequence

Hi, another novice question.
I have switched out a 1.6TD JX pump (Vanagon) to a AAZ pump on my 1.9TD AAZ mongrel and have a pile of injector pipes.
Want to make sure I have them in the correct order. I know the firing order is 1342, but not sure which pump valve is which.
The injector valve body has A,B,C,D stamped next to the valves but if the firing order is 1342 then the alpha sequence would be something like A, C, D, B, so it seems the letters have nothing to do with firing order.
Anyone have a diagram of the pump face showing which valve goes to which cylinder? Seems like a simple question but I could not find.

I think that with orginal pipes not bent out of shape its impossible to get it wrong, the pipes only fit one way.

If your pipes are bent out of shape then i suggest getting another set, because the risk of them cracking and leaking is high.

Why do you want AAZ pump instead of the JX pump? Doesn't fit under the lid, and depending on AAZ model the JX pump can probably supply more diesel... JX also revs better...

I managed to figure it out. A is #1 B is #3 C is #4 and D is #2. Like I said I have a pile of old pipes that with the exception of the JX pipes were not labeled or grouped. After awhile by trial and error I was able to match up the pipes. But I wanted to be sure of the correct ports.

I have a Syncro Tistar which is the pickup truck version of the Vanagon and has loads more room over the engine. I bought a Giles rebuilt AAZ pump and injectors. Better performance and quieter (I hope) and now the pipes are not bent all out of shape. The JX pump and injectors on an AAZ meant the pipes had to be bent.
