Project car???
« on: March 13, 2014, 06:25:01 pm »
Saw a 914 for sale, and I once saw one with an 8V gas engine instead of the airclooled pancake engine..

There's an AAZ sitting in the shed.....

What does it take to hook a WCVW to a 901 trans??

Plumbing the rad is the easy part.

Adapter plate from Kennedy (K.E.P.). This has been done, I remember seeing a 914 diesel conversion for sale a few years ago.

Every 914 I've seen in the rustbelt wanted to fold when the roof was off. I'd look very carefully at those rockers.

rust and more rust.  check the forward corners of the engine bay close, and the folding in half test as stated, pull top and make sure doors open and close and such.

I like em but wouldn't own one without a lift in my workspace.
Many things we do naturally become difficult only when we try to make them intellectual subjects. It is possible to know so much about a subject that you become ignorant.

The difference in 914 and 911 restoration/project cars these days is like 100K, they're in no way comparable as project cars.
