Day to day driving, this turbo will most likely give the best bang for the buck.

I would think it would get better mileage compared to a larger turbo as well, but I don't know for sure.

sure it would. Combusting all that wasted fuel that comes out as smoke while a bigger turbo is taking it's time spooling up.
I repair, maintain and modify VW's and BMW's.
Good work done at affordable rates. Welding and fabricating, too.

The (AAZ) k14 is hands down the best turbo for either a 1.6 or 1.9 for daily driving or slightly modded engines. We swaped out the k03 on my dads passat for a t3 and it worked ok but since we put the k14 there is no turning back.

My dads 95 passat wagon 1.9TD has a G60 intercooler and no cat.I turned up the pump and put a 1.6 boost pin inside.I just reciently went to ottawa in this car with a U-haul trailer and furniture. This turbo is set to 18 psi max and most of the way there and back it was at 13-18 psi with EGT's at 1200 deg pre turbo.

If this turbo is used in a modded application I consider it a MUST to have an intercooler, boost and pyro gage.

My dads engine I figure must be making 115-125 hp and has gobs of torque with very little smoke thanks to the k14.
