I am trying to get my truck running.. I have a td pump but it will not be ready.. I want to move the truck under its own power to bring it home and get it out of where it lives right now.. would I be able to drive truck with na pump and be reliable for a short period of time?... yes its a 1.6d block. yes it has an 11mm head..
advice?
That will work perfectly fine, you will just need to regulate smoke with your right foot before boost builds.
The pumps are identical for fueling properties. It will run just as reliable as ever with an NA pump as opposed to a TD pump.
your BACK.... hmmm Cool.. thanks.. I had a crazy thought that it would. but I just want to be sure.
I am leaving the shop I am working out of.. got to get things out of there quickly
just want my truck back on the road.
again thanks
No worries, yup back after being kicked out.
Time it the same way, be easy on the go-go pedal until boost picks up (ie. no crazy amounts of black smoke..) and you will be perfectly fine to even leave it that way if you wanted too.
thanks.. I installed my pump tonight... couldnt drive it.. exhaust isn't there...hopefully tomorrow night I can weld up the exhaust
Do you have a down-pipe on the turbo? Cause I have run them many times (for like years) with only down pipe exhausts.. no harm no foul. So long as it points down and not at the firewall or anything lol.
Yes, this is hill billy backyard BS. But hey, I don't have to worry about saving face anymore

.
Glad to hear you got it all figured out, How does it run?
well ONE word.....LOUD... I mean LOUD... cant drive it... the local police have my number .... I have been a bad boy lately... just got my vr6 done... and within an hour the county police busted me for a loud exhaust and tag in wrong location...(screw them]
so tomorrow I will install some exhaust and drive it home to finish it out... hate the fact I got to leave the shop. but things happen
