2 Stage Turbos
« on: August 18, 2013, 08:25:46 am »
Been toying with the idea of twin-charging for a while, initially considered picking up a Merc supercharger becuase they're damn cheap, but in reality a VNT makes the idea obsolete.
Have had a GT2052v sitting around for ages, cost a whopping £81 delivered, now sort of accidentally bought another one (a steal at £42 delivered!)

While i doubt the two of these would be a good combination for any kind of dual turbo system, i am still dead curious.
Got loads of room to play with,

considering doing a tubular manifold too (only mild steel though) which will help

I'd imagine the 2 stage setup would be best, find a smaller HP turbo, although what i have now is probably a bit small for the LP?
would VNT's in either position have any advantage? perhaps for even better spool on the small turbo

would take a bit of controlling, but i think it'd be a fun setup
target is 250hp, and as much torque as possible :p

or should i just forget the lot, and get a GT23xxV or something?

please, discuss  :)
